#MODERNHOME
As a young girl growing up between the Yankee and Confederate states of the USA, I was always fascinated by rooms and the precious trinkets in them. Every chance we had, my family would go to Talboton, Georgia to visit my grandparents. I would explore the heirlooms, nick-knacks, forests and rooms that my cousins often tried to convince me were haunted.
My sisters and I, circa 1999. I'm far left. #hatgang

My grandfather (a WWII vet) was an a-typical southern man, building my grandparent's retirement home himself with only a double-wide to work with. I remember (as a pre-teen) the hot and humid Georgia summers at my grandparent's home, often filled with the fresh scent of sawdust and multiple hammers pounding away, how my father and grandfather held bonding seshes building both front and back patios. I was never too far off... jic they needed my "help".

Bc of my grandparent's land; I never lacked for old deserted homes to root around, bull frogs, red clay, fire ants, wild black berries, snakes and gleaming moonlit nights. I have a love of nature that continues to this day. It definitely reflects in my style and what I incorporate in my decor. You can take the girl outta the country, but not the country outta the girl.
Me painting... like I do. Circa 2012. #ihavethisthingwithcolour
